Libra New Moon 2026

Hello friends,

Tomorrow morning, October 10th, at 8:50am PST, we will have this year’s new moon in the sign of Libra.

As I open up my astrology software in this moment (Friday morning) to write to you, the moon is in a near-perfect Grand Trine with Pluto and Uranus, bringing down the energies of these outer planets in a way that is supportive. What a lovely bit of validation that I’m listening to the moment as it arrives :)

I hope that you, too, are listening. In this retrograde season it’s really all I can advise that you do actively. We are in a slowing down moment, a time for deep pauses, deep breaths, deep conversations, but no action or decisions. We are in a time of reflecting on our past, and in some ways reliving it. It’s important to remember not to jump immediately into the “how can I use this” question.

Before we arrive at the exact new moon tomorrow morning, the moon with have a meeting with Saturn. They’ll face off, kin and adversary all at once. They’ll ask questions about what it means to be a Self and what it means to Relate. This will take place this evening, peaking around 8pm. It may feel harsh for a moment, but it might be the right kind of digging that lets a tender new root make room in the soil.

When the new moon arrives, let’s make wishes about the kind of relationships that will let us bring our full self into the picture. Jupiter in Leo will lend a hand to the moon as she moves away from her meeting with the sun, and I think we will need that help to remember that relationships are made of individuals. The all-togetherness of a Libra conjunction is just tooo cute and cozy otherwise.

After the moon is disentangled from the sun, she will move on to facing Chiron. Whatever wounds about our individuality that we have been facing will have an opportunity to speak their truth to us. Just listen. Don’t fix it or change it or get away from it. Just listen. We’re in the underworld now.

I’m curious about your experiences with the Venus retrograde so far. Have you decided to give something up for the duration? Have you heard from an ex? Had an old memory resurface in a way that surprised you? I want to hear about it. If you’re reading this, this is an invitation to share with me.

I again do not have the mental energy to create the journal prompts that I used to make. I hope to get back to them soon but I’m taking this one step at a time.

Instead, I want to pull a couple cards for each rising sign. I’m using my tarot deck of cats. They can be quite blunt sometimes, so be warned.

I won’t offer an explanation. Instead, I hope you use whatever method appeals to you most to decipher the meaning of your cards. You can look it up on labyrinthos, you can open up the guidebook that came with your tarot deck, you can look up an image of the card and see for yourself, or you can just feel into the things you already know.

Aries - the Empress is your teacher, and the 7 of swords is your circumstance.

Taurus - the Hanged Man is your teacher, and the 9 of cups is your circumstance.

Gemini - the Hermit is your teacher, and the 3 of swords if your circumstance.

Cancer - the 8 of cups is your teacher, and the 4 of wands is your circumstance.

Leo - the King of wands is your teacher, and the 7 of cups is your circumstance. Additionally, the 9 of cups jumped out of the deck for you.

Virgo - the Knight of swords is your teacher, and the Knight of wands is your circumstance.

Libra - the Moon is your teacher (how fitting for this moment!), and the four of pentacles is your circumstance.

Scorpio - Strength is your teacher, and the 10 of swords is your circumstance. Additionally, the Page of pentacles is here to help you.

Sagittarius - the 6, 9, and 3 of pentacles all leapt from the deck at once. Make of that what you will, and I know it will be enough.

Capricorn - Strength is your teacher, and the 2 of wands is your circumstance. The Knight of cups is here to help you.

Aquarius - exactly the same as Aries, somehow: the Empress is your teacher, and the 7 of swords is your circumstance.

Pisces - the 8 of swords is your teacher, and the ace of cups is your circumstance.

I had intended on only two cards for each sign but sometimes this deck just wants things done its own way, and that’s what I really love about it. I hope you look into these and see what resonates. Please tell me all about it either way.

Sending you so much love,

Alanna
