New Moon in Taurus, 2025
Hi friends,
On Sunday we will have a new moon in the sign of Taurus. It will go exact around 12:30pm pacific time, so any time that afternoon or early evening will be a great opportunity to do our moon wishes.
Even though we’re talking about a new moon in Taurus, I’m not seeing this as a cozy transit. I think this moon will focus some passionate energy for us, which at best could offer some opportunities for transformation, but at worst could bring up fights that didn’t need to happen at all. This energy will linger for a while too, taking until the next afternoon—4/28 at around 5:30pm—to break away.
It doesn’t help matters that Venus and Saturn are still in their slow conjunction. Have y’all been feeling that energy too? It’s got rough edges, and feels like a lot of pressure and constriction, and it’s asking us to really slow down and look at what we want and value, and take some big lessons from that looking. By the time this new moon happens, this feeling will finally be on the way out, but I think this lunation will bring us one last surge of that energy before we say goodbye to it.
For our moon wishes, let’s consider: what are you holding in tension against the tides of change? What actions have you taken (or refused to take, which is also an action imo) that have led to a transformation in another area of your life?
I’m going to ask you specific questions based on your rising sign, but keep in mind that in all these questions we are talking about action in tension with transformation. Is that action blocking the transformation? Or is it igniting it? This should relate to the feelings of early January as well as now.

Taurus, what actions have you taken at home, in your relationship with your parents or ancestors, and in your private life, that has created tension in your public life? What is asking to be transformed about your career or reputation? Ask the moon to release this energy by offering you a new way to understand yourself.
Gemini, what short journeys do you need to make in order to bring about the long journey? What actions have you taken in your daily life that has created tension in what you seek from life itself? Ask the moon to release this energy by revealing a secret to you.
Cancer, how are you using your resources to influence other’s resources? How are those actions asking your partners to change how they approach their own values? Ask the moon to release this tension by showing you ways in which you truly belong.
Leo, what actions are you taking now in regards to your self, your perception of self, and other’s perceptions of you, that have created tension with what is happening with your partners? Ask the moon to release this tension by allowing others to see you fully.
Virgo, what actions have you taken in relation to your shadow that are in tension with the needs of your body? Ask the moon to release this tension by teaching you a new mode of perception.
Libra, what actions have you taken in relation to your hopes that have created tension in your romantic or creative life? Ask the moon to release this tension by providing you with material resources.
Scorpio, what actions have you taken in your career (or, public life in general) that have created tension at home? Ask the moon to release this tension by showing you something new about your partners (in life or business).
Sagittarius, what actions have you taken in regards to your beliefs, education, and faith that have created tension with your daily practices? Ask the moon to release this tension by teaching you something about how to care for your body.
Capricorn, what have you received from your partners that has created tension in the ways your support your life? Ask the moon to release this tension by revealing to you what you need to next explore in your creative life.
Aquarius, what changes in your relationships have created tension in your perception of self? Ask the moon to release this tension by providing you something you need at home.
Pisces, what actions have you taken at work or with your physical self that have created tension in your mental health or your relationship with your own secrets? Ask the moon to release this tension by guiding you into a daily practice that honors all of your needs.
Last week I shared a little bit about the third house, and you may think that this week I’ll move on to the fourth. But no! I can’t be predictable like that. Let’s talk about the ninth house.
The ninth house is the joy of the Sun, and sits on the western side of the highest part of the sky. The nature of the Sun God is to see all, to witness, to perceive and judge. What’s in our personal ninth house will teach us a lot about how we search for the larger meanings of our lives.
Similar to the third house, the ninth house is seen to be “between worlds”. In this house we find the experiences in our lives that broaden our perspectives, take us to the edges of what we know, and “encounter the interface beyond which our rational mind cannot proceed”. Personally I feel a particular fondness for the ninth house. I have Taurus and Mercury there. I find that the topics of the ninth house are the ones that draw me in. I am most captivated by things that are both true and beautiful (Taurus), and I have always been known for asking “why?” a few too many times, being a little too curious (Mercury).
